21 -- TWENTY ONE -- 21

Officially 21 months of waiting. Yes, you heard me right folks and I might still be counting the months at 22, 23, 24, 25, 26 & 27. I am just praying we can get to China before the Olympics. Never would I have imagined the August 2008 Olympics would possibly play a role in our adoption from China. Maybe for the "next baby" but not for this one. Crazy but at the same time I know & trust that God has a reason for this waiting. He has just the perfect precious little one that is meant to be just for our family. We can't wait to meet her! I am thankful for God's grace as we journey this wait. I am grateful for all those praying for Lily & waiting with us. Won't we all be so excited when we finally see her face?! Kim, I know you have been planning this baby shower for over 2 years .... it is gonna be good!!!

Home in time for 70 mile per hour winds & fires ...

We had a great time of vacationing with the Board from American Liberties Institute. Hannah did amazing traveling with a group of 6 adults & no children. The cruise had a kids program but she wasn't interested so we didn't push it at all. Hannah loved sleeping on the top bunk -- I've never seen a 5 year old so excited to go to bed :-)! That bunk is a magic bed.

Came home to a lot of sad news. My heart feels so heavy for friends that are dealing with cancer and some that are struggling with major marriage issues. Not to mention the endless winds & fires all over Southern California. I am helpless to do anything for the situations -- can only pray and cast all my cares on Jesus -- it is too much to carry.

Here are some pictures from our trip. Thank you, Lord, for some time together as a family. We can't wait to one day have family vacations with Hannah's sister. :-)

Paradise, here we come!!!

Off to the Bahamas!! Not exactly the part of the world I thought we'd be traveling to right but China is sure not happening at the moment. No bloggy-blog. No email. No cell phone. No laundry. No making the bed. No doing the dishes. No cooking. I live for R&R. Just ask my sis.

Time away with Jim, Hannah & great friends. Thank you, Michael, for taking care of our Abbie while we are gone. And thank you to the wonderful ones paying for this trip -- we are so appreciative!!!

Little Wonders ....

Look at this wall!! How many years did it take to build this? Do you think the foreman on the job kept saying "six more months and we should be done, guys." I keep saying "six more months and we should have our Lily." Eventually it has to be true, right?!?! For now, I can only pray for the Lord to be nurturing our sweet Lily-Pie.

Rob Thomas, "Little Wonders": I heard this song while driving in the car on January 26th, 2007. That date was exactly one year from the day our adoption paperwork was accepted by the Chinese government. I had never heard this song before and then couldn't put it out of my mind for weeks. I couldn't find it anywhere online at the time. It was a pre-release that the radio station (that I never listen to) was playing. I don't think I had ever listened to that station until that night & I don't think I have listened to them since. I know I was meant to hear this song on that night .... just a little encourage for me in what feels like a never ending "six month process."
